Meriden HUB Tour – June 21, 2017
As part of an ambitious flood mitigation project, the City of Meriden unearthed a once-hidden stretch of Harbor Brook that passes through its downtown. Combining flood mitigation and economic revitalization, a key aspect of the project was the creation of the Meriden Green, a new urban park located near the Meriden Transit Center that doubles as a flood storage facility.
CAFM held a morning tour of the Meriden Green and the related flood mitigation components at 10:00 AM on June 21, 2017, followed by a picnic lunch. The tour was performed by Mr. Bob Bass, P.E., Public Works Director of the City of Meriden. Approximately 20 CAFM Members and other interested parties attended.
